Studio of Young Designers Association, Budapest [Fiatal Iparművészek Stúdiója Egyesület FISE]
FISE, founded in 1982, was an independent, self-governing organization, also recognized by the state. It helped young designers enter the field by organising exhibitions, assisting with studio spaces and work opportunities, and helping with marketing. A major privilege enjoyed by its members was the ability to travel abroad and take part in international design conferences.
The poster from 1985 (top left) shows members of FISE, who worked together as an organic, creative community at a time when cultural life was rigid and defined by politics.
