Domov
First published in 1960 by the Prague State Publishing House of Technical Literature, Czechoslovakia’s Domov (‘home’) was a magazine dedicated to housing culture and household technologies. Over time, it evolved into a monthly magazine encompassing a broader range of topics, including culture, lifestyle, architecture, and the applied arts. In addition to its core focus on furniture, home textiles, the applied arts, and kitchen equipment, the magazine also reported on developments in architecture and interior design. Alongside the photographs, it typically included the names not only of manufacturers, but also of artists and designers. This popular monthly magazine has survived to this day in modified form.
